We know Stretford's roads
Stretford sits on one of the busiest corridors in Greater Manchester. The A56 Chester Road runs straight through it, from Old Trafford and Gorse Hill past the Mall and on towards Sale, meeting the M60 at junction 7. When a tyre goes on that stretch there's nowhere comfortable to stop. Don't limp it. Can you reach me on an Old Trafford matchday?
Yes. We plan the route before we set off rather than joining the queue on the A56. Coming in from the Urmston Lane or Edge Lane side usually beats Chester Road when United are at home. Tell us where you're parked and how close it is to kick-off, and the arrival window we agree will take the traffic into account.
Do you cover Trafford Park as well as Stretford itself?
Yes. We're on the estate regularly, fitting at yards, loading bays and works car parks on and around Trafford Park Road, Ashburton Road and Barton Dock Road. Cars, vans and light commercials. If the vehicle is needed back on the road quickly, tell us when you ring and we'll time the visit to suit.
I've got a flat on the M60 near junction 7. What should I do?
Get the car as far left as you safely can, put the hazards on and get yourself behind the barrier before you ring anyone. If it's safe for us to work where you've stopped, we'll come to you. If it isn't, we'll agree somewhere safe just off the junction and sort the tyre there. Never attempt a wheel change on a live carriageway.
Can you fit tyres on a terraced street?
Yes, and Stretford has plenty, Gorse Hill especially. We need room to pull the van roughly alongside the car and firm, fairly level ground to jack on. Kerbside outside the house is normally fine. If your street is too tight, a nearby corner or the parking near Stretford Mall does the job, and we'll agree the spot on the phone.
